Melinda M. Burgard, MA, graduated from NYU with a degree in Music Psychotherapy. She is a NYS Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, who has been practicing clinical Music Therapy (as well as creating new Music Therapy Programs) with a variety of Populations for over 30 years. For over 14 years, Ms. Burgard created and championed Music Socials throughout the Hudson Valley Region, NY for the Alzheimer's Association. During the "Covid Years" Melinda collaborated with not-for-profit, Action Toward Independence, offering several free virtual Zoom Music Therapy Groups, including People Living with Dementia with their CarePartners as well as a Brain Health group for Seniors. She is currently offering, via Zoom, private personalized one hour Therapeutic Music Couching for CarePartners. Ms. Burgard enjoys sharing her wealth of knowledge regarding how Music and Movement can be used as a therapeutic tool for wellness.
